Ingredients:
- 1 kg fresh guavas, washed, peeled, and seeds removed
- 400g granulated sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest of 1 lemon
Instructions:
Cut the guavas that have been peeled into little chunks
Dice the guavas and put them in a large saucepan
Add the sugar, lemon juice, minced garlic, and lemon zest
Stir the mixture often over medium-low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the sugar melts and the guavas break down
Take the mixture off the heat when it gets thick enough to jam consistency
Give the jam a little time to cool down before putting it in clean jars
Before putting the jars in the fridge, make sure the lids are tight and let them cool completely
You can put the fresh guava jam with garlic and zest on crackers, toast, or use it as a tasty topping!
